By Erick Wanjala

A nationwide opinion poll conducted by Leeway Africa Research Agency has shed light on the performance of county leaders, ranking Murang'a governor First with 72.8%, Kajiado Governor second best-performing governors with  70.6% Followed closely by Kisii Governor Simba Arati obtaining 68.% on matters Infrastructure and health insurance among other

According to the LARA survey which is reckoned internationally for it's outstanding authenticity ,conducted the survey between 15 - 26 August 2025 at local level using different methodologies where also senators and women representatives had a chance on the score card .On  women representatives taking the lead was Hon Betty Maina Murang'a Women Rep  with 68.9 % approval rating. She was lauded for championing youth and women empowerment programs as well as active engagement in national debates. She was closely followed by Hon Jane Kagiri Laikipia Women Rep  and Hon Ruth Odinga Kisumu Women Rep who earned praise for their outreach initiatives and county-based development projects.

Analysts say the findings reflect a growing demand for accountability and measurable impact at the grassroots. "Kenyans are increasingly judging leaders not by rhetoric but by tangible results that improve daily life," said Hon Moses Mwenda the head of the Research at Leeway Africa Research Agency Kenya.

The poll also highlighted areas of concern, with some governors and women representatives scoring below 40%, signaling dissatisfaction with stalled projects, lack of visibility, or unfulfilled campaign promises.

As the political landscape shifts ahead of the next general election, observers say such ratings may shape voter decisions, with top performers strengthening their reelection bids while underperformers face growing scrutiny.
