By Erick Wanjala Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Captain Ronald Karauri has challenged fellow leaders seeking to become the next Nairobi Governor to publicly declare their wealth and explain the sources of their assets. Karauri said the 2027 gubernatorial contest should be anchored on integrity, transparency and accountability, arguing that voters deserve to know the financial backgrounds of those seeking to manage the capital city’s resources. He questioned how some aspiring leaders had accumulated significant wealth and urged them to demonstrate that their assets were acquired through legitimate and verifiable sources. “Those seeking to lead Nairobi must be ready to account for what they own and explain how they acquired it,” Karauri said, according to remarks circulating publicly.
