A spirited political battle is shaping up in Kibwezi West Constituency as a new aspirant Hon Albanas Wambua declares interest in unseating the incumbent Member of Parliament in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the wiper party National delegates conference, the aspirant, who is vying on a Wiper Democratic Movement–Patriotic Front ticket, said it is time for fresh and accountable leadership that prioritizes the needs of the people.

He criticized the current MP for what he termed as “dormant leadership and unfulfilled promises,” vowing to restore development and transparency in service delivery.

“Our constituency deserves progressive leadership that listens to the people and delivers tangible results. We are bringing a people-centered agenda under the Wiper Patriotic Front,” said Hon Wambua.

Hon Wambua pledged to focus on youth empowerment, job creation, and improved infrastructure, while also championing education and healthcare programs.

Local residents expressed mixed reactions, with some welcoming the new entrant as a “breath of fresh air,” while others maintained support for the sitting MP, citing ongoing projects.

Political analysts say Kibwezi West is likely to witness a heated contest, as the Wiper Party seeks to reclaim its influence in the region ahead of the 2027 polls.
