WIPER LEADER KALONZO MUSYOKA SLAMS GOVERNMENT OVER FAILURE TO PLACE 350,000 KEPSA CANDIDATE'S

Wiper Leader And Presidential aspirant 2027 H.E.Kalonzo Musyoka

2027 Presidential Aspirant and Opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration over what he termed as a major failure in the education sector, accusing the government of neglecting more than 350,000 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KEPSA) candidates who are yet to be placed in secondary schools.

Addressing the Press Former Vice president Musyoka said the delay and uncertainty surrounding the placement of the candidates had caused anxiety among parents, learners, and teachers across the country. He faulted the government for what he described as poor planning and lack of preparedness under the new education framework.

“It is unacceptable that over 350,000 children who sat their KEPSA assessments are still at home without clear placement. This is a clear indication that the Kenya Kwanza government has failed in its responsibility to our children,” Musyoka said.

The former Vice President argued that education is a constitutional right and should never be subjected to political experiments or administrative confusion. He claimed the situation exposed deep gaps in the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), calling for urgent intervention to safeguard learners’ futures.

Kalonzo further accused the government of prioritizing political interests over critical social services, warning that prolonged delays could lead to increased school dropouts, especially among children from vulnerable families.

“This government promised efficiency and accountability, but what we are witnessing is confusion and negligence. Parents deserve answers, and learners deserve certainty,” he added, calling on the Ministry of Education to immediately release a clear and transparent placement plan.

He urged Parliament, education stakeholders, and civil society organizations to demand accountability and ensure that no child is denied access to secondary education due to government failures.

The Ministry of Education has previously assured the public that placement challenges are being addressed and that all eligible candidates will be admitted to secondary schools. However, Musyoka insisted that assurances without action were not enough, saying the crisis had already eroded public confidence in the Kenya Kwanza administration.

The issue has sparked national debate, with education experts warning that continued delays could undermine the credibility of ongoing education reforms and place an unfair burden on learners and their families.
