Hon Judith has called on Kenyans to respect the rule of law and operate within
the frameworks established by the Constitution, emphasizing the importance of
unity and accountability in a diverse nation.
Speaking during the launch of a report on milestone
in accessing to information by the office commission on administrative justice
(Ombudsman) in Nairobi , Ps Pareno, urged citizens to abide by the law and
reject acts that undermine national cohesion, adding that legal institutions
remain the cornerstone of a just and democratic society.
“We must work within the confines of our legal
framework. The law is not an enemy of progress, but a pillar that supports our
shared values as a people,” said Hon Pareno.
The PS also challenged different actors and stakeholders
to be at the forefront in promoting respect for institutions, while fostering
inclusive dialogue that reflects Kenya’s ethnic, cultural, and generational
diversity.
“Our strength as a country lies in our ability
to coexist, to listen to one another, and to build institutions that protect
the rights of all Kenyans regardless of their background,” she added.
Senator Pareno who is a Key political player in Kajiado
county, emphasized her remarks amid rising public discourse around
constitutional amendments, governance reforms, and citizen participation in
national matters, particularly among the youth.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to
upholding human rights, transparency, and the rule of law, stressing that
sustainable development cannot be achieved without civic responsibility.
The forum was attended by human rights officials,
legal experts, youth representatives, and faith-based organizations, all of
whom echoed the need for constructive engagement and lawful conduct in the
pursuit of national progress.
